Built-in Video Editor & Timeline After recording, Screen Mint automatically opens a video editor where you can craft your final cut:
- Trim & Cut: Split the video timeline exactly where you need to and remove unwanted sections with a click.
- NEW – Drag to Rearrange: Move your main video clips around on the timeline to create gaps or change the pacing of your video.
- NEW – Visual Thumbnails: The timeline now displays frame-by-frame visual previews of your recording so you can make highly precise cuts.
- Scrollable Workspace: Easily navigate and edit longer recordings with a smooth, horizontally scrolling timeline workspace.
- Adjustable Video Player: Instantly resize the video player preview using the built-in slider to give yourself more room to work on your timeline tracks.

- NEW – Audio & Video Overlays: Upload and layer your own MP3 audio files (like background music or voiceovers) or MP4 video clips (for picture-in-picture) directly onto your timeline.
- Add Multiple Tracks: Add dedicated tracks to layer custom text and images.
- Extend Your Video: Want to add an outro? Drag media past the end of your original recording, and Screen Mint will automatically extend your video’s duration.
- NEW – Cut Overlays: Click on any text, image, audio, or video overlay to split it in half, giving you exact control over when elements appear.
- Quick-Add Menu: Click anywhere on an empty track lane to instantly drop media at that exact timestamp.
- Full Customization: Adjust text styles, resize images and videos, control audio volume, and set opacity transparency.
- Intuitive Drag & Drop: Move, resize, and position your text, images, and videos interactively on the video canvas or stretch them on the timeline.
Download Edited Video
- Once editing is complete, download the final WebM video directly to your computer.
Privacy First
- Screen Mint does not upload or store any recordings. All recording, rendering, editing, and video processing happens locally in your browser.
🖥️ How It Works
- Click the Screen Mint extension icon.
- Click Start Recording.
- Choose the screen or tab to record.
- Click Stop Recording when finished.
- Use the editor to trim unwanted sections, rearrange clips, and add your audio/video tracks.
- Download the final video.
- Everything happens locally inside your browser.
🔐 Privacy First Screen Mint does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal data. All screen recordings and media uploads are processed locally using Chrome’s built-in web APIs. No analytics. No tracking scripts. No external servers. Your recordings stay on your device and are temporarily stored in your browser’s local IndexedDB.
